Project Description: The project included construction of a 22 MGD sanitary lift station and approximately 320 feet of 30-inch force main to replace the existing lift station on the same site. The new lift station featured a cast-in-place concrete screen channel, wet-well, valve vault, masonry building, submersible pumps with VFD controls, dual channel mechanical screen equipment, equipment hoist, diesel generator, site lighting, and various site improvements. The project also included stream bank and channel stabilization along the perimeter of the site and demolition of the existing lift station to allow space for additional site improvements.

Project Description:  The City’s existing lift station that conveyed wastewater for a large portion of the north side of Terre Haute was beyond its design life and in need of replacement.

United Consulting designed the new facility with a design capacity of 20 million gallons per day including a new, cast-in-place concrete structure, masonry building, submersible pumps with VFD controls, dual mechanical screen equipment, and other necessary improvements.

Project Description:  The project included construction of approximately 10,000 feet of 12-inch to 30-inch storm sewer and approximately 1,500 feet of sanitary sewer for sewer separation and reduction of CSO volumes to Charley Creek. Approximately 2,000 feet of storm sewer was located within pavement of SR 13 and involved significant coordination with INDOT and utilities. United assisted the City in obtaining the IOCRA Grant and other financing for the project.

Project Description:  Historically, the City had experienced problems with Inflow/Infiltration (I/I) in its system and its treatment plant was in need of rehabilitation or replacement.  The City contracted with United Consulting to review the 3-year-old studies, further investigate the system and update any applicable data.  United Consulting prepared the City’s Wastewater Compliance Plan required by the State of Indiana. Also, United Consulting prepared a Preliminary Engineering Report (PER) for an SRF loan to construct a new 1.0 MGD wastewater treatment plant.  The plant includes a new Laboratory and Office Building, headworks with fine screening and pump equipment, oxidation ditch, secondary clarifiers, uv disinfection, aerobic digestion, and geotextile bag dewatering facilities.

Project Description:  The City of Sullivan found itself involved with Enforcement Action with the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM). The existing Lagoon Wastewater Treatment Plant could not comply with its upcoming NPDES Limits.  United Consulting evaluated the existing facility and prepared the required Water Quality Standards Compliance Plan for the City. A new mechanical wastewater treatment plant was proposed and the Preliminary Engineering Report required for the State Revolving Fund Loan Program was approved.  United Consulting also assisted the City in obtaining a $500,000 grant from the Indiana Office of Rural Affairs. The project is completed and operating within the City’s NPDES Permit Requirements.

Project Description:  The project involves approximately 13,800 feet of new 36-inch and 42-inch relief sewer to provide additional capacity for current wet-weather flows and future development in the Castleton area on the northeast side of Indianapolis. Approximately 2,800 feet of the proposed sewer was installed in areas of high groundwater and difficult soil conditions by the microtunneling method.
