What more appropriate day than Veterans Day to host a dedication ceremony for the Town of Cicero Veterans Walkway? The ceremony was organized to dedicate the newly constructed Jackson Street Pedestrian Walkway across Morse Reservoir and officially name the structure, Town of Cicero Veterans Walkway, in honor of those who have served and are serving our Country.

The formal ceremony was performed in the Red Bridge Park Community Building, located on the west side of the walkway. It included the Presentation of Colors by members of the Cicero American Legion Color Guard, dedication remarks and speeches from Town Officials and United Consulting, a ribbon cutting, a blessing on the bridge, and refreshments.

The newly constructed walkway provides more accessibility and connectivity to the Town of Cicero while offering residents safe passage over Morse Reservoir.  During the 4th of July weekend, the Town of Cicero’s Lights Over Morse Reservoir Festival kicked-off the opening of the much anticipated pedestrian walkway across Morse Reservoir with the Town’s fireworks celebration honoring Independence Day.
