With years of anticipation, I-69 from SR 64 in Evansville to US 231, near the Naval Surface Warfare Center – Crane Division, was open to traffic on November 19, 2012 at 5 pm.

Ribbon cutting ceremonies were held at both the southern and northern limits of the project.  Governor Mitch Daniels was in attendance at the Daviess County ceremony.  “Many people said this interstate expansion wouldn’t happen in their lifetime, but it’s here.  In addition to opening the road ahead of schedule and under budget, we’re opening greater economic opportunity, faster and safer travel, and improved connectivity,” Daniels said.

United Consulting played a vital role in this new terrain project.  United completed front-end design-build documents for 15 bridges on this 55-mile section on a very compressed design schedule.  United staff spent relentless hours and showed extreme dedication during the expedited schedule.  The end result was well worth the hard effort with yet another successful project completed.
