April 13th delivered clear, sunny skies and a perfect day for the I-65 SE Indiana Groundbreaking Ceremony. The ceremony, officiated by Governor Eric Holcomb and INDOT Commissioner Joe McGuinness, kicked-off the 2018 construction season. Among the dignitaries and businessmen, E&B Paving’s Little Jake was front and center with shovel in hand as the ceremonial dirt began to fly.

The I-65 SE Indiana project is a $143 million Best Value Design Build which reconstructs and adds a travel lane to the interstate from US 50 to SR 58.

The E&B Paving / United Team was selected as the Preferred Proposer last May after going through a rigorous submittal process and proposing a solid, well thought-out plan that exceeded INDOT’s scoring criteria, providing several added-value elements to the project scope — one of which shortens the proposed project schedule by 44 days.
