United’s Annual Chili Cook-off and Costume Contest went off with a couple of added twists to make the event socially distanced and COVID-friendly. In lieu of the traditional chili cook-off, a chili lunch from the District Tap was provided by the company. Given the absence of the much-anticipated Chili Cook-off Contest, the Culture Committee provided an opportunity for employees to submit their favorite recipe to be included in the first ever United Chili Cookbook.
The day’s events still included the traditional Costume Contest as a virtual experience with online voting and monetary prizes awarded to the first, second, and third place Individual Costumes category and the winner of the Group Contest category receiving a Grubhub gift card for each participant in the group. Remote employees were also encouraged to participate and invited to include members of their household to participate if they wanted to be included in the Group category.
