United Employees pulled together in an overwhelming outpouring of support to help combat the fight against hunger during a Food Drive, organized by United’s Culture Committee in conjunction with St. Vincent de Paul and Gleaners Food Bank.
According to the Gleaners Food Bank website, one in seven Hoosiers is hungry — And hunger doesn’t break for the weekends.
St. Vincent de Paul / Gleaners identified the following top items which are in critical need and short supply: fruit; tuna; pork & beans; and peanut butter & jelly.
In order to ensure a cross-section of the critical items, it only made sense to divide and conquer the food bank’s needs through systematically matching United’s internal company departments with the specific donation needs (shown right by teams).
The week and a half long event collected a total of 912 items, itemized below.

ITEMS DONATED PER TEAM
TEAM FRUIT | 127 CANS |
TEAM TUNA | 352 CANS |
TEAM PORK & BEANS | 229 CANS |
