Hearts were pumping at this year’s annual United Health & Fitness Walk, May 23, 2012. Employees walked approximately 3.5 miles on the Grand Junction Trial in the beautiful City of Westfield. The woods-lined trail provided a welcome blanket of shade on the warm summer day. After a pleasant stroll along the trail, everyone took a break for a leisurely picnic lunch at Old Friends Cemetery Park. Upon returning to the office, the traditional low-fat Dairy Queen Dilly Bars that were handed out as an extra sweet treat.
Bill Hall, United Consulting’s CEO, was recently named ACEC Indiana President. Bill had previously sat on the Board of Directors for three years before he was appointed to Vice President/Treasurer in 2011. Bill will hold his newly appointed position as President until June of 2013. One of Bill’s main goals is to focus his efforts on funding. “There is plenty of work for engineers to do, but our clients must have the resources to do it. Adequate spending on infrastructure is the key component to the future success of our business. Therefore, my main focus as ACEC President will be to advocate for adequate funding to meet our long-term infrastructure needs,” said Bill.

The Fulton County Highway Department in conjunction with United Consulting hosted a Ribbon Cutting for the Mt. Zion Bridge and Mill Pond Dam on December 2, 2011. The new bridge over Rain Creek, which is the third generation of bridges at this historic site, spans 150 feet. The new bridge will provide a safer route for school buses while the dam will protect local residents from potential flooding.
As in years past, United employees stepped up to the plate with food, clothing and monetary donations for the Old Bethel Community Outreach and the RTV6/Warren Township Christmas Toy Drive for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. In total, employees donated 412 food items, 256 personal care items, 69 clothing items and $500 to Old Bethel. The United Christmas tree was overflowing with stuffed animals, cars, games and everything little boys and girls love! Thanks again for your generosity.
