The Monon Bridge Ribbon Cutting & Dedication Ceremony was held on July 1 in the plaza underneath the new bridge on Carmel Drive. Speakers for the event included Mayor Jim Brainard, Carmel City Councilmen Ron Carter and Eric Seidensticker, and UNITED'S Dave Richter. The $3.5 million bridge includes a steel bowstring truss and was built to ensure the safety of Monon users. The bridge also has LED lights that can be used to celebrate holidays with a variety of colors.
