FEATURED PROJECT

Client: Hamilton County, City of Indianapolis, City of Carmel, Town of Fishers
This high profile multi-million dollar project involved land acquisition services of approximately 100 parcels required for the widening of 96th Street from Keystone Avenue to I-69 including a new bridge over White River.
The land acquisition process for this project was extremely difficult due to the wide range of property types along the corridor. Various land uses included agricultural, residential, condominium, commercial, developmental, and specialty were all present on this project.
The varying land types associated with this project required diversity and precision by our staff of appraisers and negotiators in delivering completed parcels without excessive eminent domain constraints.
Communication, organization, and proficiency were imperative on this assignment with the unique challenge of this project traversing through the jurisdiction of four separate local governmental entities. The project was situated on the Hamilton County – City of Indianapolis boundary with Hamilton County serving as the lead agency. Additionally the City of Carmel and the Town of Fishers were stakeholders in the project. A detailed cost sharing/interlocal agreement between these four agencies was initiated, developed and managed by our firm in order to establish and track multi million dollar fiscal responsibilities associated with this very important transportation improvement project.
Our management, leadership and diligence demonstrated during the land acquisition phase of this project was essential in securing the needed land required to create the East 96th Street Transportation Corridor.
